Leaking Sewer Stack Replacement In Strata Apartments

As well as domestic/residential jobs, we also undertake real estate and strata work. This is an example of a recent strata job undertaken.

The strata manager contacted me to let me know that the sewer stack was leaking in one of the garages. The leak was dripping onto one of the resident's cars.

The strata manager issued a work order. We immediately contacted the on-site contact and made plans for a site inspection.

This is what we found. The old steel sewer pipe is affected by rust which was causing it to leak in several locations.

We conducted a site inspection to clarify the extent of the rust and leaking problem. From there, we provided a detailed quotation outlining the proposed work needed to resolve the leaking pipe issue.

Once the quote had been approved by all body corporate members, we received the approval to go ahead with the plumbing repair to the sewer stack!

The next step was to arrange access to the affected garage and obtain all the materials needed for the job.

We started by cutting away the old steel pipework before installing the new PVC sewer line, including a removable 100mm access cap as a provision for future cleaning or inspection of the sewer line.
